March 15 JeaneePaintsLive at AL-G's Birthday Bash at Outt Saloon Lexington SC

March 15, 2014 Lexington SC Al George of Al-G's Roadhouse Band had a big 62nd birthday party so big he even shared the birthday event with Nancy who was also celebrating her birthday. Al turned 62 and apparently he never thought he would live to see 62 so this was a huge birthday event with all the entertainment and food plus at least 2 birthday cakes. There may have even been 3. LOL! Alice Meyer played numerous instruments as well as singing and coordinating the event. There were appearances by many fine entertainers including a 17 year old prodigy playing some really cool original music. (I'll have to get his name, so I can tell ya'll about him)

S&M band played their farewell gig with Scott Rife and the lovely Morgan on violin, guitar and flute as well as vocals. They played a rendition of Ice Ice Baby that was out of this world great!! I hope someone recorded that! I wish them both future success. I certainly hope Morgan continues in her music career as she is definitely very talented. I am sure Scott will continue as he has been in the business over ten years. Best wishes to both!

Jeanee Paints Live juggled three canvases throughout the evening painting backgrounds while various musicians played including Wild Bill and Bert Cockrell. Even Maxine Sands came out for the night and made an early evening performance to get the crowd going. That woman can sang!! Leon Godfrey showed up on the drums several times throughout the evening. Alice performed many memorable flute notes and guitar and keyboards plus added vocals to the evening as well. What a wonderful talent she is an such a great hostess. While of course, Mr. Al G managed the mic and the musical flow and kept the entertainment going. He played some great blues. I love it when he puts his sunglasses on and gets going into the blues on a deeper level. Oh my God what a great time we all had. Thanks to Al-G!! The event started at 6PM and went until well after 2AM. So...it was a night to remember and a very happy birthday for Al!!

There wasn't a photographer in the crowd, so I took these pics of my art at the end of the night.

What has JeaneePaintsLive Been Doing?

2014 JeaneePaintsLive at Haven in Lexington and at Villa Ville in West Columbia, SC

The Haven Coffee Shop on Main St Lexington featured a dual act Jeanee on the paintbrush and Keith Bates acoustic act. This is the first appearance Jeanee has made since April 2013. Many people were surprised to see her. They had an excellent turn out at the show with many friends and fans in attendance. Jeanee painted away to the beat and made this beautiful painting, naming it Haven Palm.

Healing with Art

Several people suggesed I sign up for Healing Icons a healing arts program for cancer patients. It took a while but I was finally able to go to the program that Heidi Darr Hope has at the Lexington Oncology in Lexington, SC.

I attended 5 sessions in all and noticed the act of creating art made me forget about the pain I was in.  After I left the art therapy session and got into my car, the pain would return and I would once again feel my pain. I wish I knew how to get that much relief for pain and to feel that well at all times. Even pain meds do not work as good as art!

Thank you Heidi Darr Hope!

JEANEEPAINTSLIVE NEW ART NEXT CHAPTER

JEANEEPAINTSLIVE

FEB 1 2013 I was diagnosed with stage 3+m CANCER...
I have the type that is the fastest growing.

I AM DETERMINED TO BEAT THIS!
I HAVE A LOT MORE LIFE TO LIVE.
In view of that fact I probably will not be painting live very much...
(if at all) as I do not really know how I will feel from day to day.

(Painting "Blue not Pink" c 2013 Jean Bourque 20x16 canvas)

I will be posting my newest paintings here so you can see how I am using art as part of the healing process. These two are when I was waiting for test results of my biopsy.

My story... I found the olive sized lump the day before Christmas. I called everyday until I got an appointment set up with a doctor. When I saw the first doctor, exactly one month later,  it had grown to a golf ball size. During this time (Dec 25, 2012 -Jan 25, 2013) I painted several acrylic paintings with textures and unique designs on 16x20 inch canvases ready to hang.

During that time ...
the time before the Diagnosis and before the Pain...
I painted several others of various sizes that were mixed media acrylics on canvas
and here are
these three darker ones which were painted right after I found the lump

Today is Feb 10, 2013... Day 10 of my diagnosis... and it is now the size of a grapefruit. Now I am in a lot of pain and find myself tired a bit more than normal. On Jan 29, they found 2 additional tumors... which all turned out to be cancerous with lymph node involvement. Here are two more watercolors I did.  The first one was waiting for results and the second was after receiving the results.

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE FOR ALL YOUR PRAYERS AND KIND WORDS.

MUCH LOVE
JEANEE
